SOUTH WEST SCOTLAND, UK: A LIGHTNING quick UK kingfisher has been snapped from just fifteen feet away by a local photographer. Pictures show this blue and orange brightly coloured birdy frolicking on the river, diving for food and enjoying a nibble on a nearby perch which is a sign ironically warning, “Private Fishing”. Photographer Ron McCombe (61) from Hawick on the Scottish Borders, spent five days and up to ten hours a day to capture the wonderful character of this British classic bird in south west Scotland.
